Our new paper on HCV rapid diagnostic testing

In our recent paper published in the latest issue of the Archives of Iranian Medicine in February 2021, the screening of hepatitis C infection by rapid  diagnostic kits among addicts population in Mashhad and assessing liver fibrosis with routine laboratory tests in the patients has been discussed. The prevalence of anti-HCV antibody was reported as 16% in this population, and the viremi rate was estimated as 85% among antibody anti-HCV positive patients. Furthermore, based on laboratory parameters calculated from blood platelets counts and liver enzymes, the risk of advanced liver fibrosis in patients with active hepatitis C was estimated as 14 to 18%.
